Theme a day – Kitchen items!

Ask your grown up if you can borrow some kitchen utensils – think spoons and forks, wooden spoons, hand whisk, cheese grater, (careful!) spatular, ladle, tin opener – the kind of things that might be kept in a drawer. – Do make sure you ask first, some of these kinds of items can be sharp and not suitable for you to use for this.

Decide how you want to arrange them – overlapped in heap? upright in a jar/pot? individually? Its up to you.

As with all these drawing activities, its best to pick out the basic shapes first and make a light sketch before going back over with the detail. When you try to shade in, make sure you follow the shape of your object so it looks 3D.

Some of your objects might be shiny – look closly at where the light and shadows fall – this could be a good chance to practice using tone (light, medium and dark – you knew that though…)
