Theme a day – Hands!

No excuses for this one, you all got hands! If you are right handed – you’ll be drawing your left hand, if you’re left handed, you’ll be drawing your right, right? Hold your hand in differnt poses and get drawing. The more the better.

Hands are notoriously hard to draw, so all the more reason to practice. Try looking at the base shapes – some people choose a circle for the palm, others prefer a trapezium (squre with one wider end!) shape. Your fingers are each made of 3 basic cylinders.

Spend time just sketching out the basic shape before you even try to get started on the detail. Getting the hang of being able to draw these basic shapes in a range of different poses is what will give your drawing edge.

Detail is irrelevant (doesn’t matter) if your main shape is out.

If you are really struggling – eiher keep trying or try one of the ‘loosen your line’ activities for this theme.
