Keep up your sewing practice!

Year 3, I’m talking to you! Year 2, if you’re feeling ambitious you could get a head start… though this would be good for any year group.

At Bounds Green, once you get to year 3, we learn the blanket stitch. If your grown up has a few sewing things, ask if you can practice. Hopefully year 3 and up remember how to thread your needle and tie your own knot…..

I found this clear video to remind you how to do it. Any thread will do – the lady in the video uses a thick embroidery thread, you should use whatever you have to hand.

Just remember – Up through the bottom, pull (a bit), forward through the loop and pull!
