If you have some crayons at home, try this. Colour a full page with whatever colours and patterns you like. Make sure you fill it all and press fairly hard so there are no gaps in your coluring and you have a nice thick layer of wax. Thin/standard paper is best for this.
Get another sheet of paper and lay your crayon paper face down on top of it (crayon side down!) I sugesst sweeping any loose wax flakes out the way first.
On the back of your now face down crayon sheet, use a pencil (not too sharp!) or biro, to draw your pictures. Once you are done, peal off your crayon paper and see your drawings transfered on the new paper in fun colours!
Didn’t work? Maybe your crayon layer isn’t thick enough – make sure its got a nice thick layer of wax.
Finished? Nope – get a black crayon and colour all over the crayon paper, right over all the colours , really hard, so you have a good layer of black. (not your lovely transfer picture!) Then ask a grown up to help you find something you can use to scrape a picture into the black crayon page – rainbow colours shine through! – This is called sgraffito. (said – scr-feet-o)
